ALBANY – Gov. Paterson said this morning that his dice-happy teenage son, Alex, has executive dispensation to watch Sunday’s pivotal Jets playoff game despite being caught this week with someone else’s debit card.

“We didn’t think he did anything wrong,” Paterson said during an on WFAN 66 this morning. “So he’s fine. Now believe me, every other week he’s done something wrong.”

Sports radio host Craig Carton drew the reponse with a few softballs about whether the incident was “blown out of proportion” and whether the 15-year-old Alex would be free to watch the Jets battle the San Diego Chargers.

The executive scion was briefly taken into custody and released Tuesday, after police broke up a dice game outside his Upper West Side school and found in his possession a debit card that had been reported missing.
