A former city police officer who died from 9/11-related brain cancer was honored in Manhattan on Saturday.
More than 75 people gathered for the 23rd Precinct’s annual alumni party at Twins Irish Pub on Ninth Avenue to remember Larry Rivera, a former delegate, who worked his entire career at the East Harlem precinct before retiring in 2006.
Rivera became sick late last year and died over the summer.
He left behind his wife, Mimi, son Andres and daughter Alexis.
