A pedestrian was struck and killed while trying to cross the Belt Parkway early Friday, police said.
The 63-year-old man was walking northbound and attempted to cross near Exit 19, near the Van Wyck Expressway, around 5 a.m., when an Acura sedan that was traveling westbound in the left lane hit the victim, cops said.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The driver remained on the scene and no criminality was suspected, police added.
The victim’s name is being withheld by police, pending proper family notification.
