The squeaky-clean son of Colombo crime-family boss Carmine “Junior” Persico is being investigated for the 1992 murder of a Staten Island man who was dating the wife of the mob scion’s brother, a report says.
The feds are eyeing Michael Persico, 53 — Junior’s only son without a criminal record — in the shooting death of Michael Devine, who was going out with Alphonse “Allie” Persico’s wife, Teresa, Ganglandnews.com reported.
Devine, a bar owner, was shot in the groin, which prosecutors believe was a message that he was “imprudently intimate with the spouse of a member of La Cosa Nostra,” according to a 1993 letter obtained by the Web site.
Authorities have always believed that Allie Persico, who was serving 12 years in federal prison for racketeering at the time, ordered the hit.
