WOODMERE, N.Y. — The Nassau County fire marshal’s office says investigators are trying to determine the cause of a house fire that claimed a life.

The fire occurred early Thursday in Woodmere. The name of the victim was not immediately released.

Eight fire departments were at the scene. One firefighter was treated at a hospital and released. cm-bd
