A Long Island Railroad train bound for Jamaica Station struck and killed someone in Oyster Bay this morning, officials said.

The person — whose identity and gender has not been released — was hit about a half mile from the Glen Head Station on the Oyster Bay branch around 11 a.m.

The LIRR temporarily suspended rail service along parts of the line and provided buses to and from Mineola Station.

The line is now back in service.
