PLAINFIELD, NJ — A New Jersey Transit train struck a person near the Plainfield rail station.
NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. says the person is alive and was taken to a hospital. It’s not yet known if the person was a male or female.
Durso says the Raritan Valley Line train was headed to Newark with about 150 passengers aboard when the accident occurred at 5:25 a.m. Monday.
Durso says the passengers were transferred to another train.
The accident is causing delays of up to 20 minutes and NJ Transit buses are honoring Raritan Valley tickets.
