The New York woman who has been locked in a Peruvian prison for 14 years was freed for the second time yesterday.

Lori Berenson was given a 20-year sentence in 2006 for planning an overthrow of the country’s congress — which never happened — with leftist rebels.

She was initially paroled in May. The same judge who first freed Berenson, 40, reinstated her parole on Friday.

But a return to New York isn’t on the horizon — she has to remain in Peru until her full sentence is served, or until the president commutes it.

Also, Peru’s top anti-terrorism prosecutor has appealed her parole.

“This is a very sensitive matter for the country,” said prosecutor Julio Galindo, adding that the court could decide on the appeal in less than a month.

Berenson didn’t make any statements. Her lawyer and husband, Anibal Apari, told reporters that she was “once again trying to adjust, and organizing her things.”
