Federal prosecutors say a Long Island housing complex refused to rent to people who required the use of service animals, claiming they violated a no-pets rule.

A complaint filed yesterday claims Sunrise Villas in Lindenhurst is in violation of the Fair Housing Act, which says landlords cannot refuse to rent to people with disabilities.
