A retired pharmacist has been charged with pouring liquid mercury into cafeteria food at a hospital in Albany.
Martin Kimber was ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation after his arraignment Friday. He was charged with tampering with a consumer product.
Mercury is poisonous, but the liquid form found at the hospital is usually too thick to be absorbed by the human body, even if ingested.
