Scammers posing as public defenders have bilked two Big Apple grannies out of thousands of dollars, according to police.

Officials released a photo Friday of a woman wanted in connection with the flimflam.

The hucksters called a 78-year-old Bayside woman on May 2, claiming to be a lawyer who needed $8,700 for her grandson’s bail, cops said. She sent the money to an unidentified account, but got suspicious when she received a second phone call asking for another $8,000, officials said.

A second scam call was reported to police on July 12 by an 85-year-old Manhattan woman, who said someone posing as a public defender phoned her requesting $1,600 for her grandson’s bail. As instructed, she placed the cash in an envelope and dropped it off at an undisclosed location, where it was later picked up by a woman who was caught on security camera.

Police have yet to make any arrests and are asking for help identifying the woman in the photo they released.
