A heavily drunk man decided to rest his legs by taking a seat on the third rail at the West 4th Street subway station in Greenwich Village, cops confirmed today.
Dumbfounded and horrified straphangers called police Tuesday at 1:50 a.m. when they saw the man sitting there, cops said.
Miraculously the man avoided getting electrocuted, law enforcement sources say it’s likely that he parked himself on a protective barrier that protects the third rail.
Transit cops responded to the station and took the man to Bellevue Hospital for an evaluation, cops said.
