It’s a view for eating that will certainly rival the nearby River Café — but at much cheaper prices.

City officials overseeing the Brooklyn Bridge Park project began soliciting bids from developers today interested in running a full-service restaurant that serves booze on Pier 6, at the edge of Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights.

The restaurant, which is expected to open in Fall 2011, will include a 2,000-square-foot indoor section, an adjacent outdoor terrace and a rooftop seating area that overlooks Manhattan.

Rendering released today show the eatery would also overlook a popular children’s playground within the park, a sand volleyball court set to open next summer and a planned lawn area that will open in spring 2011.

The city this past summer allowed some food concessionaires to set up carts at the Pier 1 section of the 85-acre project, across the street from the fancy River Café on Old Fulton Street.
