A violent Pirate of the Subterranean plundered a subway.
A goateed mugger dressed in a cheap pirate costume pummeled a Bronx straphanger and ripped off his sneakers inside a Bronx subway station – just days before Halloween, cops said Thursday.
The violent thief approached a 32-year-old man around 4 a.m. Sunday at the turnstile area of the Brook Avenue subway station and punched him multiple times, authorities said.
The costumed plunderer fled the scene and was still on the loose Thursday. NYPDThe attacker – seen wearing a tricorn hat, a patch just above his eye, white button-down shirt, purple vest and red-and-black striped pantaloons – then snatched the victim’s sneakers and AirPods before bolting, cops said.
The buccaneer’s attack left the victim with minor injuries, but he refused medical attention.
