Pitino gal eyes perjury
Prosecution witnesses may have lied during the trial of the woman convicted of extorting former Knicks head coach Rick Pitino after they had sex for 15 seconds in a Louisville Italian restaurant, her lawyer said yesterday.
Karen Cunagin Sypher’s attorney filed papers asking for 45 days to examine whether “a key witness or witnesses” committed perjury during the trial, the Louisville Courier-Journal said.
The lawyer would not say which witnesses he believes lied or what they lied about.
At the trial, a red-faced Pitino spoke of his brief encounter with Sypher and how he gave her money after she told him she was pregnant.
