A small aircraft hit the runway nose first yesterday at Brookhaven Airport on Long Island, federal authorities said.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Jim Peters said no one was hurt during the hard landing of the Cessna 152 at 9:40 a.m.

The pilot was the only person on board the private plane.

Peters said the small prop aircraft was registered to Mid Island Air Service at MacArthur Airport. The FAA was investigating.
