Plane-stupid politicians
A securities executive hired a plane to fly around the city with a banner proclaiming what the country is feeling: “Thanks for the downgrade, you should all be fired.”
The plane buzzed Standard & Poor’s office on Water Street downtown, but the woman behind the aerial stunt, municipal-bond trader Lucy Nobbe, of Kirkwood, Mo., said it was actually a message to Congress, not to the credit-ratings firm that slashed its outlook on US debt.
“I can’t believe these people are acting like idiots, Congress,” Nobbe, 51, told The Post.
Nobbe, a single mom of two, said she originally wanted the plane to fly over Washington, but learned much of the capital is a no-fly zone, so she settled on New York City.
