City parks workers made a gruesome discovery Friday outside a Bronx park, finding human remains believed to be those of an adult woman, police sources said.

Two city workers stumbled across two plastic bags containing the body parts on the sidewalk near Crotona Park South and Franklin Avenue in Morrisania at about 2 p.m., the sources said.

The remains, initially thought to be those of a dog, were taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office, while cops combed the area.

The ME’s Office is working to identify the remains and determine a cause of death
