A Virginia plastic surgeon has been busted on gun-possession raps after he left a loaded handgun in a safe at the Marriott hotel in Times Square, then checked out, authorities say.
Shlomo Widder, 70, of McLean, Va., checked out of the hotel April 30 after an eight-day stay but allegedly forgot his firearm, which isn’t legal in New York, according to a criminal complaint.
A security guard removed the gun, which was loaded with six cartridges, and called the cops, court papers say. The doctor, whose Vienna, Va., practice specializes in butt and breast augmentations, allegedly admitted it was his, the complaint states.
Widder faces one count each of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
He didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
