Good news, everyone: The summer heat is taking a break for another day.
Temperatures will be mild and “comfortable” Wednesday at 83 degrees, according to senior AccuWeather meteorologist Tom Kines.
“It looks like a real winner,” he said. “It might be a good day to play hooky if you’re going to do it.”
But the reprieve won’t last as the mercury ticks back up to about 87 degrees on Thursday.
And the dog days of summer will be back in full force by Friday, when a heat dome — a high-pressure system of extreme humidity that traps hot air close to the ground — covers the city through the steamy weekend.
The insufferable heat will peak Monday, when temps could reach a record-breaking 98.
