A local foundation in Newtown, Conn., yesterday made a recommendation on how to divide $7.7 million in donations made to families affected by the Sandy Hook school massacre.
The decision would give $281,000 to each of the families of the 26 children and adults killed at a Connecticut elementary school last year.
The families of 12 surviving children who witnessed the Dec. 14 shootings would each get $20,000 while two wounded teachers would split $150,000.
The recommendations were released before a public forum at Newtown’s Edmond Town Hall.
