Victims of terror attacks in Israel more than a decade ago shouldn’t be able to nearly double a $655.5 million award they were granted by a Manhattan federal jury by tacking on plenty of interest, lawyers for Palestinian authorities claim.

Lawyers for the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority filed papers late Monday challenging a proposal by the 10 American plaintiff families of victims of six attacks that occurred between 2001 and 2004.

The Palestinians’ lawyers say the jury award should not include interest accrued before the verdict while the plaintiffs’ lawyers say it should.
