Embattled Staten Island Rep. Michael Grimm, facing scrutiny for his 2010 fund-raising efforts, says he has faced much worse on the front lines.

Grimm, a former Marine and an ex-FBI agent, says he’s faced worse than the public hammering he’s taking on ethics issues.

“I’ve had people try to kill me,” he told supporters yesterday. “I’m going to dust myself off and I’m going to keep fighting for the people of Staten Island and Brooklyn.”

Grimm, 42, was elected in 2010 as a darling of the Tea Party. But he’s since fallen out with some top Tea Partiers over questions about his links to a shady Israeli fund-raiser.
