WARSAW, Poland — A Staten Island businessman wanted on financial-fraud charges has been arrested in Poland, US officials said yesterday.
Krakow police arrested Alexsander Efrosman over the weekend, the US Embassy said.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission said in a 2005 complaint that Efrosman, a k a Alex Besser, stole about $5 million from customers of two fraudulent hedge funds, Century Maxim Fund and AJR Capital.
