The New York City Police Department Emergency Service Unit welcomed their latest four-legged officer to the force.
Russel was named after former NYPD Det. Russel Timoshenko, who was killed in the line of duty in July 2007.
The Twitter account for the NYPD’s Special Operations unit tweeted out a photo Saturday of Russel posing with Officer Timoshenko’s mother.
