A firearm was discovered inside a bag on the ground near St. Patrick’s Cathedral during the Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, sources said.

Police found the gun after someone in a group dropped the bag on 50th Street and Fifth Avenue at around 1 p.m., according to the sources.

Five people were arrested. Four were later released, and possible charges were pending against the fifth.
