One man was gunned down and another wounded on a Canarsie street this afternoon, police said.

The 41-year-old fatal victim, whose name was not released, was shot in the chest on East 78th Street, near Flatlands Avenue, around 3:20 p.m.

A 38-year-old man was shot in the arm and groin, and taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, cops said.

“My son, my poor son, they killed my poor baby,” said the mother of the slain victim, who did not want to give her name.

Police were searching for one gunman. The motive was unclear.
