Police want the public’s help in finding two men who attacked and robbed food deliverymen in Astoria.
In three different incidents, the men ordered food using a fake phone number. When the food arrive, a suspect approached the man from behind, placed him in a choke hold, and robbed him, said cops.
The first incident was reported July 6 at 33-21 13th Street. The suspect approached the unsuspecting 38-year-old food deliverer and placed him in a choke hold, while an accomplice took $2000 from his pants pocket. Both suspects then fled the scene.
A few weeks later, on the night of July 18, a 51-year-old man was delivering food near 11-52 30th Road when a male approached him from behind, choked him, stole $150 and an iPhone from his pocket, and fled, cops said.
In the third incident reported Thursday night at 38-59 Ninth Street, a robber put a 46-year-old man in a chokehold while a second man stole $400 and credit cards from his pants pocket.
One suspect in the Thursday night robbery wore a white shirt, pink shorts and a black hat. The other wore black pants and a black shirt with white lettering.
Anyone with information regarding the robberies should call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
