Police have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting of a beloved Queens barber Tuesday.
“Tyson Boateng has several arrests. He is on parole. He is the shooter, and we’re going to go ahead with trying to apprehend him today,” Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told reporters Friday.
Boateng, 31, is believed to have shot Zanu Simpson, a barber at Strickly Skillz Barbershop in Hollis, as Simpson was leaving Breezes Highland Bar & Grill at about 12:15 a.m., according to police.
Cops believe the killer was trying to steal Simpson’s jewelry, Boyce said.
