A police bloodhound was tracking the scent of a missing man through a Connecticut State park when the determined dog got himself lost in the wilderness.
The crime-fighting pooch, named Texas, was doggedly following a trail in Wooster Mountain State Park during the search for the man on Wednesday when his handler lost sight of him, according to Danbury Police.
Another police K-9 found the missing man and the person was taken to safety by cops — but Texas was nowhere to be found.
“You tell a bloodhound to stop, the bloodhound says, ‘I’m on a scent right now so you’re going to have to catch up with me,’ ” Trooper Kelly Grant told NBC Connecticut.
Cops are still looking for Texas, who they said is a “non-aggressive, brown bloodhound wearing a green tracking vest.”
State Police and the Danbury Fire Departments joined the cops in the search for the dog.
Danbury Police were asking anyone with information to call Troop A at 203-267-2200.
