Police nabbed the arsonist who doused a Bronx apartment building lobby in gasoline and set it ablaze, authorities said Wednesday.
Waldo Mejia, 23, was busted Tuesday after he was caught on surveillance footage allegedly walking into a Bailey Avenue apartment building early Sunday morning and pouring gasoline throughout the entrance vestibule before lighting it up, cops said.
The shocking video, obtained by FOX5, shows the lobby engulfed in flames.
Mejia was arrested around 11 p.m. Tuesday and charged with burglary and arson.
It’s not his first run-in with the law. He has been arrested twice before for criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.
