Cops were questioning a suspect Friday night in connection to the horrific, random death of a Queens mom who was fatally shot when a stray bullet pierced her bedroom window this week, police sources said.
The suspect, a 31-year-old man who lives in the area of the Jackson Heights shooting, was brought to the 115th precinct at around 8 p.m., sources said.
The victim, Bertha Arriaga, 43, had been in her room in the family’s apartment on 34th Avenue when she was hit in the neck at around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to cops.
Arriaga’s 14-year-old son heard what happened and rushed into the room to find his mother dying.
Arriaga was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the suspect may have been robbing a moped with another male prior to the shooting.
