Police say a Cortlandt Manor woman posted sex-for-cash ads online, then claimed to be a detective and shook down patrons for more than $1,000 each.
Westchester County police said Tuesday that Shatai Dungie, 32, was charged with criminal impersonation and grand larceny.
The police said Dungie was working with 38-year-old Nyrhande Thompson of Peekskill. He faces the same charges.
Two men went to Cortlandt to meet the woman.
Police allege Dungie and Thompson then identified themselves as detectives and told the men they were arrested.
Police say the fake detectives offered to drop the arrest for the money.
Calls to defense lawyers were not immediately returned.
