Pols: Probe ‘NYPD-CIA’
WASHINGTON — More than two dozen members of Congress are calling for an investigation into the CIA’s relationship with the NYPD.
The lawmakers want to know more about the CIA’s collaboration with the Police Department to allegedly monitor Muslims.
A letter signed by 34 members of Congress was sent to the Department of Justice and the House Judiciary Committee.
Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.) said, “We cannot allow the explicit profiling and targeting of Muslim Americans by the very people who are tasked with protecting and serving their community.”
The CIA had helped the NYPD build intelligence programs after 9/11.
