A 12-year-old New York City boy who wanted to see how long he could hold his breath underwater drowned yesterday in a relative’s pool, police said.

Daekwon Ramel White, was visiting family in Delaware Water Gap, Pa., when he jumped into the pool, police said. The child’s uncle had stepped away for a few minutes — and found Daekwon at the bottom of the pool when he returned, they said.
