Real-estate executive Don Peebles, who is considering running against Mayor de Blasio in 2017, has asked Public Advocate Letitia James to investigate the administration for “economic discrimination” by failing to hire more minority contractors.

Peebles accuses the city of violating Local Law 1, which says city agencies and contractors must make a “good faith effort” to hire minority-and women-owned firms.

In the letter Thursday, Peebles cites city stats that show firms run by minorities and women received only 4.6 percent of city business in fiscal year 2015.

“The . . . administration . . . increased spending on [minority and women] contracts by 57 percent in the previous fiscal year,” said spokesman Ishanee Parikh.
