A wake will be held today and tomorrow for Charles Harrigan, a longtime foreman at the New York Post who died in a crash Thursday while driving home to Pennsylvania. He was 52.

The wake will be today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Harmon Funeral home, 571 Forest Ave., Staten Island, and tomorrow from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church at 1634 Victory Blvd. on Staten Island.

Harrigan, who lived in Swiftwater, began work at The Post in 1989, and at his death was a foreman in the distribution department at the newspaper’s Bronx printing center. He managed the delivery routes in the five boroughs.

“He was a 6-foot, 4-inch, 350-pound teddy bear with a heart of gold” who excelled at his work and was devoted to his family, said Eddie Francione, his immediate boss.

Harrigan is survived by his widow, Dawn, daughter, Jackie, 16, and son, Joseph, 12.

“He was a hardworking, loving and strong man,” said Jackie. “RIP, Daddy, I hope that you’ll be watching the Yankee games from heaven.”
