Al Palmer, a retired director of production at the New York Post, has died. He was 83.

A wake for Palmer, who retired in 1996 and died Sunday in New Jersey, will be held tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Orender Family Home at 2643 Old Bridge Road in Manasquan, NJ. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catharine’s Church in Spring Lake, NJ.

Palmer is survived by his widow, Marilyn, sons John and Michael, daughters Cynthia and Leslie, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
