Here’s a shocker: The feds are weighing claims that your Con Ed bill is too low.

New Yorkers’ sky-high electric rates — long among the nation’s steepest — aren’t high enough for power-generating companies, one of which gripes it’s so cash-starved that it might go broke.

The generating companies accuse the bosses of the state’s power grid of a “targeted pattern to lower electricity prices across the board” — and are demanding the feds do something to boost city rates.

At issue are fees Con Ed pays generating companies to stand by in case extra power is needed during peak times. Bill Sanderson
