The family of a Pratt Institute architecture student who died after collapsing in class claims the school’s emergency protocol aren’t up to par.

Michael Ramos, 20, a senior, was in the midst of an exam when he had a medical emergency in October 2018, but no one immediately called 911, resulting in an “ineffective and unsuccessful” response, according to a Brooklyn Supreme Court lawsuit filed against the school by his family.

Students weren’t permitted to have cellphones during the test, forcing one to run down several flights of stairs and ask a flustered security guard to call for help, said Ramos family attorney Stacy Thompson.

When first responders arrived, they were forced to wait for a slow elevator like everyone else while Ramos went without aid, his family charges.

Pratt Institute had not yet been served with the lawsuit, but said it responded “immediately in an appropriate manner” to Ramos’ medical emergency, as did the FDNY.
