A creep followed a woman into a Queens alleyway, pushed her down, stuffed a handkerchief in her mouth and seethed “I’ll kill you” before trying to rape her – but her screams scared him off, cops and police sources said.

The victim, 32, was walking home around 5:45 a.m. Friday, when the predator followed her into an alleyway at 31st Avenue and Jackson Mill Road in East Elmhurst, according to cops.

There the attacker removed her clothing, including her undergarments, an NYPD spokesperson said.

However, “she kept screaming, so at one point, he jumped off and ran away,” according to the department spokesperson.

The incident was originally reported as rape, not attempted rape.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

Cops have yet to make any arrests.

On Saturday, the department released an image and surveillance footage of the suspect, and asked the public for any information.

Rapes are up 50% so far this year, with 96 reported between Jan. 1 and Jan. 19 citywide compared to 64 at this point last year.
