The pope’s visit has blessed some privileged city kids with an extra day off school.
Many private schools — including Riverdale Country School, Horace Mann and Fieldston Ethical Culture in The Bronx — are closing Friday out of fears that commutes could be a nightmare.
Some parents are less than pleased.
“I think it is absolutely ridiculous,” said one parent of a student at Fieldston.

Many Catholic schools in the city will be closed in honor of the occasion.
