The owner of a defunct Murray Hill drug store faces $75,000 in fines for allegedly handing out more than 65,000 narcotic pills — including Oxycontin and methadone — like they were candy.
Thomas Farkas gave up his license to dispense “controlled substances” after the Drug Enforcement Administration raided his Anatole Pharmacy in 2007. They couldn’t find any record of who got the potent painkillers, according to a civil suit filed yesterday by the Manhattan US attorney.
