A Manhattan judge Friday ordered yet another mental-competency hearing for accused daddy-killing Princeton grad Thomas Gilbert Jr. at the request of his lawyer.
This will be Gilbert’s fifth psychiatric exam since he was arrested for allegedly killing his 70-year-old hedge-funder father, Thomas Gilbert Sr., Jan. 5, 2015, in a dispute over his monthly allowance.
Prosecutors consented to the competency hearing, which will further delay Gilbert’s upcoming murder trial.
Defense lawyer Arnold Levine has complained that his client, who suffers from schizophrenia, has exhibited bizarre behavior and repeatedly refused to meet with him.
Gilbert, 34, is due back in Manhattan Supreme Court on Feb. 15.
