A prisoner briefly escaped from federal custody in Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon, according to police and a law-enforcement source.
Jhonny Soto, 19, was being transported by the FBI near the Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park when he made a break for it soon after 4 p.m., the source said.
Soto, wearing gray sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt, was taken back into custody just before 7 p.m., police said.
He was recaptured not far from the complex, near 26th Street and 4th Avenue after federal law enforcement and local police officials scoured the area for hours, police said.
Further information was not immediately available.
