ALBANY — The state Legislature’s top priority heading into the final weeks of the 2011 session should be passing a property-tax cap, a new poll says.
The Siena College survey of 897 registered New York state voters says the next priorities should be an ethics-reform law followed by extending rent-control laws in New York City.
Legalizing gay marriage came in fourth.
After that, New Yorkers say they want to see an independent commission created to redraw election-district lines.
All of those issues are among the topics being negotiated behind closed doors.
