Protester eyed in rape
An Occupy Wall Street protester is suspected of raping a 56-year-old woman at the South Street Seaport and throwing her over a second-story railing, cops said.
The victim met up with her attacker, whom she knew from the demonstrations, a couple of days ago. Things turned ugly at around 2 a.m. Monday when the suspect, identified by police as Jackie Barcliff, 44, raped her and hurled her from an elevated platform at Pier 15, cops said.
The woman suffered a broken pelvis and other serious injuries.
Cops are asking protesters to be on the alert for the suspect as the movement prepares for its first anniversary on Monday.
