About a dozen Black Lives Matter protesters were taken into custody Saturday evening after they disrupted traffic on FDR Drive.
Protesters blocking the FDR drive.Alberto ReyesThey were the remnants of a gathering of about 1,000 people who had marched from City Hall to Union Square.
Most of the group dispersed at Union Square. But a few continued on north to Times Square, and then headed east to the FDR.
They marched up the FDR from 42nd to about 60th Street, police said.
The protest shut down northbound traffic on the road at about 9:30 p.m. Those arrested were given summonses for misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
