Sen. Charles Schumer, spurred by the huge Toyota recall, yesterday proposed legislation requiring that a master list of recalled products be posted on the Internet.
“To be forewarned is to be forearmed,” Schumer (D-NY) said. “New Yorkers should know what they’re getting.”
The bill would cover every product from computers to toys and would require merchants to notify customers if an item is subject to recall.
