HARTFORD, Conn. — A Connecticut jury yesterday spared a Queens man the death penalty — despite his coldblooded killing of a couple shot a total of 11 times during a holdup of their Fairfield jewelry shop in 2005.

The Bridgeport Superior Court jurors opted for life in prison with no chance of parole for Christopher DiMeo, who was convicted in February of killing Tim and Kim Donnelly, both 52.

DiMeo is already serving a life sentence in New York for killing another jewelry-store owner, Thomas Renison, 48, in 2004 on Long Island
